2nd place 5150 Kraichgau

In a nutshell, I can say that the swim and run over the short distance did go well this time. In contrast to Barcelona 70.3 where that went not all that smoothly. The bike over 40 km was decisive. The German winner Maurice Clavel (vice European champion 70.3) managed to build a gap of almost 3 minutes on me. During the run I was able to recover some time but not enough to claim the victory.

For me it was a perfect race in the run-up to the IRONMAN of Frankfurt. Short and powerful, getting out of my comfort zone! And that went well :-) By the way, Kraichgau served a beautiful triathlon festival. An IRONKIDS, a Triathlon Bundesliga over the sprint distance, an IRONMAN 70.3 and IRONMAN 5150! Great!

In the upcoming period I will be staying at 1850 meters height in the training centre of Font Romeu. The perfect place for me to prepare for major races.

Next meeting in 4 weeks at the IRONMAN European Championship in Frankfurt!
