4th at IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona

I'm really pleased with my 4th place at IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona. Racing some of the best in our sport, on a very demanding but beautiful course, was not meant to be easy. For me, only 7 weeks after IRONMAN South Africa and 7 days after my 3rd place in 70.3 Pays d'Aix, a really solid performance.

Not my best swim performance (still some work to do here) left me for a long individual pursuit on the leaders. I managed to keep the gap reasonable and to catch a few athletes in the front. I started the half marathon in 5th position and with 1h15 I moved up one position. I can conclude, that especially on the run, my base speed is really ok.

Now it's time for a little recovery and start to build up the volume towards IRONMAN Nice. Still 8 weeks to go, so this 70.3 couplet was perfectly planned and executed in the right middle between 2 full distance races.
